Jaguar wet sump

In February, C&G completed the machining of the first prototype Jaguar E type wet sump. Good quality original sumps have always been hard to find and with an ever increasing demand for wet sump LWE engines, C&G decided to make a pattern and reproduce brand new sumps. The prototype machined up with great success and stock should be available soon. The prototype sump was cast as an early E Type sump without the fins, however the production sumps will be cast with cooling fins.

Goodwood Revival Meeting

Crosthwaite and Gardiner were out in force at this year's revival meeting with 14 engines throughout the entry list including Jaguar LWE engines, Coventry Climax engines in sports and single seaters, Maserati T61 Birdcage engines and Bugatti engines.

Crosthwaite and Gardiner powered LWE wins the TT

The highlight of the event had to be the fantastic start to finish victory in the one hour TT. YVH 210 which was run by DK Engineering, claimed pole position and broke the lap record in the hands of Michael Vergers and Juan Barazi. The LWE was powered by an all new C&G engine with wide angle cylinder head, dry sump, slide throttles and Lucas fuel injection. After out-dragging the rest of the £30 million grid off the start line, they never looked back.

Brabham BT8's first outing

Along with providing engines and parts for the majority of the cars present at the celebrated event, C&G supported Peter Harburg and his newly acquired Brabham BT8 in the Madwick Cup. The car ran faultlessly throughout the weekend and C&G were very pleased to support Peter in his first race at Goodwood.
